Business: Owners Catherine Raphaely and Ralph Bousfield have created an extraordinary safari experience in Botswana. As well as owning Jack’s Camp, San Camp, Planet Baobab and Camp Kalahari in the Makgadikgadi, Uncharted Africa organises bespoke mobile safaris, tailored to each clients’ interests.

What’s your favourite place? I can never visit the Makgadikgadi Pans enough.
What has been your favourite wildlife experience? Seeing a Brown hyena being collared at Jack’s Camp. The privilege of getting that close to this fascinating animal will always stay with me.

What’s on your safari wish-list: Mnemba island, off Tanzania’s coast.
Your idea of a perfect African getaway: A six-day mobile safari through the Moremi and Okavango Delta, followed by a break at Jack’s Camp then four nights on safari with Ralph and the Bushmen of the far western Kalahari, and ending at The Victoria Falls Hotel, Zimbabwe. |
