"I've enjoyed the warmth of Uganda's people since 1986 and have travelled much of the country on foot," says David Pluth. "In 1999 I was commissioned by the Uganda Tourist Board to do a major photographic survey. I think we stayed at practically every lodging in the country. It's one of the nicest countries for travelling because the infrastructure is surprisingly good and there are hardly any tourists - so go now and be treated royally. I urge visitors to stay at community hotels and bandas, even for one night, for a real taste of Uganda."
David is Canadian but has lived in Switzerland since 1987. His books include: Uganda Rwenzori, A Range of Images. In the Eye of the Storm (on Uganda) and Karamoja! Uganda's Land of Warrior Nomads (to be published next year).
