David Steele has enjoyed a productive career in photography and journalism. Specialising in travel and wildlife, David has written several books, established one of Africa's major photographic libraries and was the founding editor of South Africa's Getaway magazine.

Having spent part of his honeymoon there, David finds Addo a special place and enjoyed a number of trips to the national park until circumstances at work prevented any travel during the 1990s. However, a recent career change has allowed him to visit the park twice this year and he was pleased to find Africa's southernmost herd of elephants more relaxed than ever.
