If we receive your subscription or renewal for two years or more by the 26th of March, 2010, you’ll go in the draw to win 6 nights for two people in Namibia with Wilderness Safaris, as outlined below, worth a whopping US$6500 per person! Your bookings will be co-ordinated by Expert Africa, one of the UK’s leading Namibia travel specialists, who can also organise your flights and additional arrangements if and as required.
The prize at a glance:
Two nights at Little Kulala A luxurious desert retreat within the Kulala Wilderness Reserve, offering early morning nature drives to the spectacular towering dunes of Sossusvlei, part of the Namib Naukluft National Park. Guided drives and walks are also offered on the private reserve with incredible views, desert-adapted plants and wildlife like the iconic gemsbok. Each climate-controlled, thatched unit has its own en-suite bathroom, private verandah and plunge pool, as well as a rooftop ‘skybed’ for romantic stargazing. Other activities include visiting Sesriem, scenic sundowner excursions, balloon safaris (additional cost) and walking the Black Mountain Trail.
Two nights at Damaraland Camp This comfortable and friendly camp offers walks and drives in one of the best wilderness areas in Namibia. The camp is situated where the rare desert elephant roams, alongside springbok, ostrich, cheetah and other hardy desert animals. Within the wild Torra Conservancy, this is the Africa of old with no fences, where local communities and their livestock live side by side with the wildlife. Activities include game drives, nature walks, mountain biking, moonlight boma dinners and cultural visits to a local homestead and school. New technology combined with ancient knowledge has produced an eco-friendly, cutting-edge camp design.
Two nights at Ongava Lodge Overlooking a well-frequented watering hole and the plains beyond, this rock and thatch lodge is situated along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park, Namibia’s premier game viewing destination. Within the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve you will be able to see resident white and black rhino, while lion move freely between the Park and the Reserve. Take half and full day excursions into Etosha National Park; go on a game drive or track white rhino on foot through the Ongava Reserve, or simply relax for some photography at the hide. Birding is excellent with endemics including Bare-cheeked Babbler and Hartlaub’s Spurfowl.
